00 Built for Fire & security
I'm a field tech, and I've worked fire and security. Here's how Tech Ops handles inspections, devices, panels and getting in the door.
01 What you deal with
A fire or security site isn't one piece of equipment. It's a panel, a pile of detectors and pull stations, cameras, readers, door hardware and a lot of cable, spread over buildings and floors. Inspections come due on a schedule, and the paperwork has to show every device was looked at. And half the battle is getting in: the gate code, which door, who has the key.
Tech Ops keeps all of that with the site, so the tech walking in has it on his phone.
02 How Tech Ops handles it
Every one of these comes with every seat.
Buildings, floors and every device on them: detectors, pull stations, cameras, readers, locks. Each one is an asset with its own history and a QR label you can print.
Fire panels, access control panels and NVRs are assets on the site, with their make, model, serial and every ticket that's touched them.
Build your own inspection forms and checklists. PM schedules book the visits and name the devices each one covers, so a camera added next month is on the next inspection.
Floor plans with the devices placed on them, and a walk-through view of the site. Audits and punch lists, risers, doors and cable runs, and an as-built PDF with signatures.
Gate codes and access notes live with the site. On the phone they're kept for open jobs, so the tech has the code at the gate even without signal.
Readers, strikes, maglocks, power supplies. Track them on each van, on the shelf and in the warehouse, move them onto the job, ask another tech for one, and order what runs low.
Quote the add-on cameras or the panel swap from the ticket, send the change order when the scope grows, and invoice from the same ticket.
Travel, arrive, work, done. Each step is a tap, and the hours come from the job itself. There's no clock in or clock out to forget.
Your customers log in free, put in their own service calls, see their sites and equipment, approve quotes and sign off finished work. They never see your costs or your other customers.
Team chat, a chat on every ticket, voice and video calls with screen share, and a walkie button. Nobody has to text from their personal phone.
Each person picks their own language in their profile, so your whole crew reads the app in the language they're comfortable with.
